Question:Whenever I stick a disc into the cd/dvd drive on my laptop, Vista doesn't seem to recognise there is a disc in it. However, I managed to burn a few songs onto a CD using iTunes, but the second half of the songs on the CD couldn't be played for some reason. I've checked Device Manager and it says the drive is installed and working fine. The CD/DVD drive is a Matshita DVD-RAM UJ870QJ ATA Device.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello johnny7,
Thanks for using the Microsoft Answers Forum.
You might try the article below and see if helps to resolve your problem. Sometimes a problem with the filter stack in the registry will cause issues similar to this. Sometimes the drive is not recognized by the system or the media used in the drive are not recognized for burning disks. Another option is that the media you are using could be defective but this is a rare occurrence.

Answer 3:Thanks for that link Judd, that Microsoft Fix It worked a treat. Burning songs onto CD, playing them and playing DVD is now working. I can now listen to my gran playing her version of Freak On A Leash by Korn on her banjo while driving along the beach.
Thanks.
