Answer 2:

Hi Jlamb,

Thank you for taking the time to post on the Microsoft Answers Forums.

What changes have been made on your system either hardware or software in the last 2 weeks?

Will you please try to do a system restore back to a date and time prior to you having this issue?

To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

1.        Click Start, type system restore in the Start Search box, and then click System Restore in the Programs list. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.

2.        In the System Restore dialog box, click Choose a different restore point, and then click next.

3.        In the list of restore points, click a restore point that was created before you began to experience the issue, and then click next.

4.        Click Finish.

All of the steps listed above came from the following KB article: (feel free to reference this article if you would like more clarification.)

Please post back after doing a system restore and let us know if you are still having this same issue so that if so we may further investigate what else may be going on to cause this issue.

Answer 3:It did not help. Everytime I use my media center to play dvds it creates a file called windowsmediacenterdatstore.db. If I delete the file then it works fine, but if I leave it there then it won't work.
