[Answer]Missing volume icon

Question：I have a Dell desktop running Vista Home premium, with a sound card, speakers, etc. Until today I've always listened to music, but my volume icon disappeared so I have no way to turn up the volume. How can I make my volume icon visible again so I can adjust the volume?

To view your volume icon again on the taskbar

 

1. Click the Start ORB
2. In the search line type TASKBAR and STARTMENU
3. From the programs list select TASKBAR and STARTMENU
4. Select Notification Area tab and under the system icons section place a check mark beside VOLUME
5. Click Apply then Click OK

 

It should be viewable in the taskbar again.

Answer 3：I have the same problem with the volume icon and the internet icon.  But when I go to the system icons under notification area, you can't click the boxes, as they are not highlighted.  In other words they are visible, but I can't click them!!
