Question:I have a Dell desktop running Vista Home premium, with a sound card, speakers, etc. Until today I've always listened to music, but my volume icon disappeared so I have no way to turn up the volume. How can I make my volume icon visible again so I can adjust the volume?

Hi reynolds4321,
Thanks for posting your question on answers.microsoft.com
To view your volume icon again on the taskbar
- Click the Start ORB
- In the search line type TASKBAR and STARTMENU
- From the programs list select TASKBAR and STARTMENU
- Select Notification Area tab and under the system icons section place a check mark beside VOLUME
- Click Apply then Click OK
It should be viewable in the taskbar again.

Answer 3:I have the same problem with the volume icon and the internet icon. But when I go to the system icons under notification area, you can't click the boxes, as they are not highlighted. In other words they are visible, but I can't click them!!
