[Answer]Two Netflix Tiles After Install

Question:I found the Netflix tile under TV + Movies, clicked it, and installed the Netflix application. However, now I see two Netflix tiles under "TV + Movies" - one that runs the application and one that runs the installer again.

This has happened on three different machines - two running Windows Vista Ultimate and one running Windows Vista Home Premium.

I have tried going to Settings -> General -> Automatic Download Options and clicking the "Download Now" button to refresh the downloaded settings, but that doesn't seem to resolve the issue on any of the machines. Looking at other forums, it appears that this is not an uncommon problem .

I called Netflix support and they say it's a Microsoft problem. I know it's their app and they should have more info and be able to help, but I'm sort of stuck.

Anyone know how to get rid of the installer tile once the app has installed?

Answer 2:

Hi Travis,

Thank you for posting on the forums.

You could try this utility and see if it will work for you.

Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility

Answer 3:I'm not exactly sure what I should do with it. It appears that I run it and select... some program?... that I want to... uh... uninstall? The readme explaining the process on the KB article page is mostly clear, but should I clean out the Netflix program? Something else? (Kinda reluctant to download and run it just to "see what happens" if you know what I mean.)
