[Answer]Netflix not available in Vista Media Center

Question:I have Vista Home Premium with Windows Media Center.  As I understand it, that's all I need to have the Netflix tile show up under "TV + Movies".  I don't see it though.  I also checked in the Program Library to see if anything was there for me to download/install...nothing.  Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance for anyone who takes the time to read this and respond.

Answer 2:Hi Ron and Tinny,

Do you have Silverlight installed? Another less than obvious question is - have you rebooted in the last couple of days? I ask because many people, myself included, leave their laptops on but in sleep mode for days or weeks at a time without actually rebooting or shutting down. Since Netflix for WMC was only released this week, it may require a reboot.

Check on these two prerequisites and post back and let us know if you are still having problems.

Answer 3:Hi, Dave D.  Thanks for your response.  I do have Silverlight (version 2.0.40115.0), and in fact, when I go to the Netflix site using IE8, I'm able to view any of the Watch Instantly movies on the site.  Also, I have rebooted since I started looking for Netflix in Media Center, and I still don't have it.  (Just to be sure, I rebooted again, and still no Netflix.)

I can't figure out what's wrong.  Just about everywhere I look for information on this, it seems that people are just having Netflix show up in Media Center without doing anything or they just need to go to the Program Library and do a quick install/download from there by clicking on a Netflix tile there.

Anything else I should look at or try?  Thanks!
