Answer 2:Hi bushcraft,
Thanks for posting to answers.microsoft.com
Is there any errors that you read about this issue in Reliability Monitor or Event viewer?
How to view information in Event Viewer - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947321
How to troubleshoot using Reliability Monitor - See STEP 5 from this article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950685
Also, you could try running SFC /SCANNOW from the Command prompt. This will check for System File Corruption. Since WMC is loaded with Windows Vista Ultimate, it's files are included.
Here is how to run SFC /SCANNOW
Start menu > All Programs > Accessories, then right-click on the Command
Prompt > select Run as administrator > click Continue to UAC prompt and
run this command in the cmd prompt: sfc /scannow
Please let us know on this issue of any further assistance needed.

Debbie
