Question:How do I get rid of the music files in my media center.I've cleared my media player library but they're still there. If I delete songs individually the only way is if I agree to erase from my computer,Help!!!
Answer 1:
Hello collettemark,
.
The easiest way to no longer see files in Media Center is to take the following actions.
1. Start Media Center.
2. Scroll to the Task selection and click on Settings.
3. At the bottom of the list, click on Library Setup.
4. In the next screen, select "Stop watching a folder".
5. Uncheck the appropriate location to remove media from the Media Center.
Let us know if this helps.

Answer 2:Hello collettemrk,
Thank you for using Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.
I have researched on this issue and believe I have an answer. I have seen other users having the same problem when they remove a folder but it's still not gone. Please try steps below and let us know status.
For Windows Vista:
Click Start, click Run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.
Select all the files in the folder, and then click Delete on the File menu.
Note You do not have to delete the folders that are in this folder.
Restart Windows Media Player.
Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.
After deleting all the files, Media Center's library was completely reset. I readded the folders I wanted and everything has worked fine since.

Answer 3:thanks everyone for your feedback. What I ended up doing is clearing my library in media player since that's the library the media center uses. Once that was done I got more specific about which folders to watch. So far it seems good..Thanks
