Question:I have an HP laptop with windows Vista that I've used for over a year with no problems. Now it's telling me that my version of Windows is not genuine and I need to activate it, which the 30 days has now lapsed. My product key on the bottom of my computer cannot be read anymore-it's wore off. Why all of a sudden do I need to activate windows? What can I do?

Answer 2:
Thank you for your suggestion. It did work for me. I still don't understand why I had to do this in the first place.
