BIOS Emulation??? Help Please

Question:I had an Virus on my computer when it was running Vista Home Professional. AVG profesional picked it up and sayed that it had deleated it, after that I noticed that I could not enter into my BIOS settings using F2 and that I cant change what disk ect to boot from using F10 when I start the computer up. and there is a diffrent screen that comes up after my old load up screen that goes through what looks like another loading sequence, So I decided to just start from scratch and install Vista Ultimate. It is still doing the same thing and now I can not load my xp professional that I have installed on a diffrent partion of my hard drive.
I have a freind that said it sounds like a Bios Emulation program but he didnt know how to stop/delete it, if anyone has any idea's or know how to fix it, any help would be apreciated.

PS sorry about my horrible spelling :)

Answer 1:

Hello, Rob

We appreciate you using the Answers Forums.

If the virus affected your BIOS, you will need to contact your manufacturer for repair.

If you have Vista and XP installed on separate Hard Drives, you can try disconnecting the Vista Hard Drive so that you can boot into XP.

I hope this helps.
