Question:hello, i just bought a 1 Tb Samsung Hard Drive and is starting to fail... (hard drive clicking, blue screen, tremendous slow down) im just wondering if when i get the new harddrive can i just put in the installation disk and reinstall visa? or can i back up the files and use that on the new hard drive? the problem is that i wont have the dard drive that is currently installed with vista...
Answer 1:http://www.theeldergeekvista.com/vista_clean_installation.htm
It has to be a clean install of Vista, unless you Image your present Hard drive..
Save all your Data to flash drive, CD, USB external Hd before changing Drives over.
Or, Hard Drive Manufacturers have cloning software available for you to download and use when you purchase from them.
Or Acronis True Image: http://www.acronis.com/
Cheers.
