My Windows Vista keys aren't recognized!

I have recently purchased a HP Pavillion DV6000 laptop in Portugal, preinstalled with Windows Vista Home Premium.

After a few months, however, I wish to reinstall Vista. due to several malware issues on my notebook. I attempted to order the replacement CD, but my Windows Vista Key wasn't recognized, although it IS a genuine Vista OS.

Could anyone please help me?

Thanks,

Presumably, the installation is Portuguese and you are looking to change it to English?

You have options..

  1. Order a Portuguese language Vista Ultimate and then convert to English with a downloadable language pack
  2. Buy a fresh English version of Vista Home Premium and clean install using the new keycode
  3. Try to eliminate the malware and get the computer running well enough until the public release of Windows 7
What you can't do is use an English version with what is essentially a Portuguese keycode..
