Question:Hello,
I am using Windows Vista Home Premium, SP 1 32-bit. Just last week I had to make a lyrics video for a skit. The files used was just one mp3 file, and I added the titles as lyrics, and arranged them according to their time-lines.
I managed to publish the video to Windows Media HD 720p (5.9 Mbps). And the publishing was sucessful. I also saved the project has a Windows Movie Maker Project file just in case I needed to edit anything.
And indeed it did need editing. But when I finished editing the video and tried to publish it, there was an error saying " Windows Movie Maker cannot publish the movie to the specified location. Verify that the original source files used in your movie are still available, that the publishing location is still available, that there is enough free disk space available, and then try again."
So I thought okay, maybe I could re-make the video. And I did, only to have the same error. I restarted my computer and so far nothing seems to work. This is not the first time something like this is happening. Previously, I had to edit a sound clip on windows movie maker. The first time I published it, it was successful, but the 2nd time I published it, the whole audio file was cut into half! And no, I did not increase the length of the audio file.
So please, I need help with this. I have not found a topic like this because my file only includes an mp3 file whose length is 6 mins 7 secs and the file is 11.2 MB. But if there is a similiar topic being posted, please give me the link to said post.
Thanks

Hello, E-Sel-C
Thank you for using the Answers Forum!
Check that your mp3 files are in the exact same location. If they aren't you should be able to right click on the source file in the project and update its location.
Let us know if this helps.

MP3 files can be problematic with Movie Maker...might be
worth a try to convert the .mp3 file to the .wma format and
then import into Movie Maker.
You can do the conversion with Windows Media Encoder:
Windows Media Encoder
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=5691ba02-e496-465a-bba9-b2f1182cdf24&displaylang=en
How to convert .mp3 to .wma
using Windows Media Encoder
Open Windows Media Encoder
On the New Session screen / Wizards tab...
choose...Convert a file / OK
On the File Selection screen...browse to the
.mp3 Source File you wish to convert
Also browse to and select a save folder and
enter a name for your converted file /
Save button / Next
On the Content Distribution screen I usually
choose 'File Archive' / Next / Finish.
When you see the 'Encoding Results' screen
the task is complete.
