What ever is on the timeline when you Publish
will be in the finished movie.

You have to remove the unwanted clips from
the timeline (right click/delete) before you
Publish the Movie. (This does not affect the
original file)

Yes....remove the portions you do not want
from the timeline and Publish the rest.

Again...what ever is on the timeline when
you Publish will be in that single Movie clip.

For more manageable clips...try checking the
box on the Import Screen that says..."Create
clips for video files". (This must be done when
you are importing the original file)
