Question:Yesterday I get a pop up on Desktop stating that my copy of Windows my be a fake. Just it is not. I don't remember the exact message. With a link to ms site
http://download.microsoft.com/download/C/0/C/C0CBBA88-A6F2-48D9-9B0E-1719D1177202/WGAPluginInstall.exe. I download it but decide to not install it and did some research download it for http://download.microsoft.com/download/C/0/C/C0CBBA88-A6F2-48D9-9B0E-1719D1177202/WGAPluginInstall.exe in still. I know same address. I get the message that my Activation was successfully, but now in the lower right cover I have this "Windows Vista (TM) Build 6001 This copy of Windows is not genuine" OS is Vista Ultimate Retail. My system seems to be running okay. How do I remove this. I have not updated my bios in two years.
Answer 1:
You can reactivate your Windows Vista installation by performing the following:
1. Click on the Start button and in the Start Search box type in: slui.exe 4
2. Press the Enter key on your keyboard.
3. Select your Country.
4. Follow the instructions for phone activation (no charge).
NOTE: When you call that number, you will first hear an Automated Voice. If the Automated Voice gives you an option to talk to a
Live Activation Rep, select that option. If not, do not enter any numbers. This should force the Automated Voice to transfer you to
a Live Activation Rep. Trying to activate thru the Automated Voice will not work, in your case, only thru the Live Activation Rep
will your activation be successful.

Answer 2:I rebooted a second time and the watermark disappear. I forgot the #1 rule about Windows "When in doubt re-boot." ;)
Answer 3:If you have any further issues, please post in the Vista Genuine Advantage forums located here:

Thank you.
