Question:Okay, here we go. Well, one of my computer's hard drive failed. It had Windows Vista on it. I bought a new hard drive and I want to reinstall Vista on it. Problem is that I only have an upgrade disk. I used it to upgrade from Windows XP Media Center to Windows Vista onto the now failed hard drive. How can I reinstall Vista onto my new hard drive?
Answer 1:Contact your Computer Manufacturer about sending you XP recovery disk.
They normally do that for a small nominal $ cost.
Then reinstall XP > upgrade to Vista.

Answer 2:Is there some other way? I would order it, but I don't want to waste money if I can it some other way. Could I just call Microsoft or something?
Answer 3:NO!
You asked; I answered.
That is your Upgrade path from XP to Vista.
Your other option is to go and buy a FULL version of your Version of Vista.
Cheers.
