Question:We have an Advent 3119 computer. It will switch on, show Boot from CD, automatically go onto the screen where it asks how would we like to start the computer. We have tried safe mode, and the other alternatives and it always does the same. The windows xp screen comes on trying to load the programme, then it closes does and the TFT monitor screen says "no signal".
We have tried using the advent system recovery disk which tries to load, but always ends up by freezing and showing a blue screen that we can't get out of. The error message says a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage. It says disable or uninstall any anti-virus or check hard drive with scan disk to check for corruption. Unfortunately we can't do any of this as the screen is locked, and won't allow us to type in any info, and we don't now how to get out of this sceen to ask it run CHKDSK/F like it asks us to do .
The technical information says "STOP OX00000024 (OX001902F8, 0XF89B06FC,0XF89B03FC, 0XF81688E9)
ntfs.sys - Address F81688E9 base at F813000, Datestamp 3b5e36a9.
If anyone out there is able to help or advise us if there is anything we can do to find out what the problem is it would be really great to get your advice.

Thanks for posting your question. This is a Windows Vista support forum but I'll be happy to get you pointed in the right direction. I would recommend checking Windows XP specific resources:
