Question:I want to remove Bing as a search engine. I despise it, and I refuse to use windows search if it is a choice. I dislike Vista already, but this doesn't help my computer experience either. How can I remove it completely?
Answer 1:
Here you go -
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/searchguide/en-en/default.mspx
Microsoft Partner - "Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room."
Answer 2:This doesn't remove Bing as the main search engine, it only adds it as an alternative. Bing is still on my messenger and at the top of my home page.
Answer 3:
Hmm...
Using that page to choose Google as your only search engine should change the search window in the upper right search box of IE7/IE8.
If Microsoft has paid your homepage site to put it there I don't think there is anything you can do about it. You can take a look at your user settings for that site (ie user account) and see if they will allow you to change it.
If you are using MSN or Windows messenger I don't think you will have much choice.
