Starting Vista in Safe Mode

Question:Hi, I am trying to start my computer in Safe mode.  I have Vista, however, when I restart my computer F8 is doing nothing.  Nothing happens, it just goes to my log on.

HELP.

Answer 1:Are you tapping F8, or holding it?

Tap F8 at Startup/Power On, and from the list of startup selections, select Safe Mode by using UP Arrow Key to go there > then hit Enter.

Cheers.

Answer 2:Hi Mick
Thats what I did. I am having a few problems with Vista at the moment and this is just another one. Any ideas about what to do next other than throwing my computer out a window?

Answer 3:Does your keyboard have an F Lock key? It maybe that the F lock key is in the 'off' position in which case pressing F8 would 'effectively' be giving your PC the command to forward an email - well it does on my keyboard anyway.
