Question：on last thursday my computer started prompting me to activate my windows home premium software. I bought my computer 2 years ago from gateway. What's the problem? I have the key that camewith my computer but it says its not valid.
Answer 1：You can activate your Windows Vista installation by performing the following:
1. Click on the Start button and in the Start Search box type in: slui.exe 4
2. Press the Enter key on your keyboard.
3. Select your Country.
4. Follow the instructions for phone activation (no charge).

Answer 2：Thanks carey. I tried your suggestion and the only option that cameup was to buy a new key or try the key that came with my system which it does not accept. This is weird because I have been using this computer for 2 year without a problem. Ihave chnged or added any hardware. Any other ideas?

Answer 3：hey...truthfully the same just happend to me like an hour ago restarted my computer and out of no where boom....i called microsoft they transfered me to activations..then they didnt know what to do cuz nothing was working n my product key was valid then they transfered me to someone else then they transfered me to someone else then they transfered me to acer..so they really don't know what the F**K they are doing.. seem like a bunch of idiots if u ask me. THANK GOD my brother used to work for microsoft hes a computer network engineer but he knows a lot of stuff n can fix n e thing so he's going to take a look at mine n he said it's really easy to fix so as soon as he does it i will post a solution for you too cuz i know how frustrating it is!!!
