Question:
People, Like Me, With Windows 7 RC Installed On Their Computers Really Would Like To Know How Much And How Complicated It Will Be To Upgrade From Windows 7 RC To The Final Release. Also, If We Are Using Windows 7 RC Ultimate. When We Upgrade Will We Be Able To Get The Ultimate Edition of Windows For A Discounted Price.
Thanks,
Nik
Answer 1:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/faq.aspx When you install the final version of Windows 7, you'll need to do a clean installation. So plan on backing up your data then reinstalling your applications and restoring your data.
Can I upgrade from the RC to the final version of Windows 7?

Answer 2:There is a rumor that the special pricing will come back:

However know that this is not from Microsoft so it may or may not happen. It seems Microsoft is pushing the Home Premium and Pro versions so even if the special pricing comes back I am not sure Ultimate would be included.
I have also read that going from the RC to the final release would only be supported with a clean install. Otherwise you will need an activated version of Vista or XP for the upgrade disc to do an install.
