Photo Gallery can't open this picture. The file format is not supported or you don't have the latest updates to Photo Gallery?

Question：I received an email with pictures and the bos appeared that Photo Gallery can't open this picture.  The file format is not supported or you don't have the latest updates to PHoto Gallery.  I am running Vista on a laptop Toshiba that I purchased July 2009.  What can I do to update Photo Gallery or something else to view the pictures.  I tried downloading Stuffit Expander but that did not help.

What is the file format of the pictures?

Does all the pictures exhibit the same symptom?

Disable the antivirus software on your Computer and check if it works fine.

Make sure that you have all the latest updates for your version of Vista.

You can also try the newer Windows Live Photo Gallery, as it has more features and should solve your problem.
