Photos burned to CD in different order than what I selected

Question:I created a photo CD on VISTA Home Premium.  I had put  the photos in a folder in a specific order and then burned the folder to the CD.  Some photos were "a copy of".   The photos did not burn in the exact order shown in the folder.  Especially the "copy of" photos.  I had moved the photos around and it seems that they were burned in the sequence of date/time taken, rather than my selected order.  How can I correct this?   Or is this a common problem (fault) with Vista?Thank you for your help.

'Copy of' photos are usually accidentally created when
multiple selecting using the Ctrl or Shift keys.

==
Here's how to reproduce the unwanted copying...

Hold your Ctrl key and select several files...

Place your pointer on the selected group (still holding
the ctrl key) and left click / drag the group even just
the slightest bit...now release the mouse button.

When burning files onto a CD...they are sorted first by
Numbers or alphabetically (if the numbers don't exist).

If you create a folder that includes the photos you want
on the CD - sort them the way you want them by drag/drop
and rename them as follows...they should be in the correct
order when the burn is complete.

If you select the whole group (Edit / Select All) and right
click the First photo...you can choose rename from the menu.

Enter -    name of your choice (1001).jpg  - Press...Enter.
Windows will complete the sequence.

name of your choice (1001).jpg
name of your choice (1002).jpg
name of your choice (1003).jpg

Answer 2:Thank you very much for the quick response.  I have spent hours trying to figure this out.  Too bad there isn't an easier way than having to rename every photo but I'm glad to know there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Yes, I know but there has to be some basis for the sort order.

The good news is that renaming in a batch is very easy and quick.

Give it a try and let us know how it goes.
