No sound delivered to my receiver thru S-Video cable

Question：

I recently attempted to connect my laptop to my AV receiver thru its S-Video connection and was able to run movie streaming from netflix thru Window Media Center.  Picture was great on my TV but sound was not sent to the receiver.  What do I have to do to get sound transmitted to the receiver?

Thank you for posting on the forums.

 

SVideo is only for your video output. You will need to hook up speakers to your laptop or use your audio output from your laptop and convert it to RCA or whatever Audio input your TV is capable of.  If you have HDMI, that will handle both Audio and Video feed with an HDMI cable.

Answer 2：Thanks John.  I have the idea.  While I don't have an HDMI output on my laptop I do have an audio output and will use it to connect to my preamp.  thanks.
