Question：
My automated windows update cannot download and install the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and Microsoft .NET Framework Family Update KB951847 x 86. I have tried several fizes as suggested but they do not seem to work. BTW I am using Vista Ultimate.
I tried downloaded the three seperate upgrades and was told none of the three applied to my system.

I would check to make sure your getting the 32-bit update if your using the 32-bit version of Windows, or 64-bit update for the 64-bit Windows.

Note This cleanup tool deletes shared files and registry keys that are used by multiple versions of the .NET Framework. To guarantee that all versions of the .NET Framework work correctly, if you run the cleanup tool to remove the .NET Framework, you must first remove all installed versions of the .NET Framework by using this cleanup tool. Then, you must reinstall all the previously installed versions starting with the lowest version number.
Suppose that you have the .NET Framework 1.1 and the .NET Framework 2.0 installed on your computer, and you plan to use this cleanup tool. In this scenario, you should use the cleanup tool to first remove the .NET Framework 1.1, and then use the cleanup tool to remove the .NET Framework 2.0. After you have removed both versions, you would then reinstall .NET Framework 1.1, and then install the .NET Framework 2.0, in that sequence.

Answer 2：Yes, I need help with this Error Code-80072EFE-same as the last person but when I did as you asked by downloading the remove tool, there is one small problem...there are none, as i don't have any installed, at once I thought that this might be a problem when installing it at all because I don`t even have the previous version installed in my laptop, again, I haven`t a clue why this sn`t installing, for the life of me can`t figure it out. I can`t see why It won`t install hope you can fgure this one...thanx
