Windows Defender reports AVG antivirus not active after updates.............

Question:I just installed some updates that were marked as being necessary, and now some strange things are happening such as:

1) When looking at update history, all updates for the last two weeks are showing with TODAY'S DATE as the install date, so I cannot tell by date which ones were installed.

2) Windows defender is reporting that my AVG is not active, HOWEVER, AVG itself says that it and all components are active.

Any ideas?

Answer 1:Hello OCBeachRat420,

Are your date and time settings correct? Mouse to the clock, click > change date and time settings,

Thanks,

Man,

Just how much of an idiot do you think I am, and exactly how much of an idiot are you?  Keep your self-taught opinions to yourself, pal -- you are of no help -- the problem is not with the date/time of the system, but with the UPDATE itself.........   reread the message, and note the phrase "strange happenings"..........

As for you, Savan H., this is not an answer at all, just another Microsoft screw=up as usual....................that of course, goes unanswered and unsolved because y'all don't know what your doing!

I hope the new Google Chrome OS puts you all out of business!

Answer 3:Hi,

No need to be rude, as you could have posted no, that didn't work
Also, most of the time, problems with update history and time has an issue with the clock settings, ( Have you tried updating windows from the year 2002 when its 2009? )

As for windows defender stating AVG isn't active but it is, maybe the recent updates from AVG cause a communication error between windows defender, I have the same problem, I tend to ignore the windows defender watching any anti-virus as I use AVG, and for the update history are you looking inside the AVG update history or windows defender history? Again, it may be a problem with just the two programs talking with each other, if AVG is reporting update as the latest date and components are fine you do not have to worry.

Thanks
