Question:I've been looking around on the web for a few days now regarding upgrading to Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit. The knowledge base was a little vague when it came to my question. How would I go about doing this on an OEM system? Home Premium 32 came preinstalled when I bought it a few years ago. Would I need an Upgrade disc, or a Full Version 64 disc? My neighbor says he has a retail Vista Home Premium disc I can borrow, so would I use the OEM Vista product key I received in order to reactivate Windows once it's reinstalled?
System Info:
eMachines T5234
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+
2 GB RAM
320 GB HDD
Windows Vista Home Premium SP1, OEM from eMachines

Hi ZennOne,
You can't upgrade 32bit to 64bit. It is not compatible! If your processor is 64bit you can install a full version of 64bit Windows Vista Home Premium with your owner product key.
I did the same. I bought a Dell with 32bit (but with processor 64bit) and install a full version vista 64bit.

Hmm, okay then. Would I have to go out and buy a 64-bit Vista install disc then?
