Question：i am unable to download several programs due to the following error note: another installation is running" but there isn't anything running.
i have tried downloading some patch from mircrosaft for this but it wouldn't download, i have taken it to a computer person all to no avail.
i am sorry that i don't have all the error numbers, suffice it to say anything i have tried from microsoft hasn't worked.
the latest try is "visual c ++ 2008 sp1 redistributable package( x86) this suggestion came from an person with AVIRA as i am trying to download their anti virus ware.

What Operating System are you running? XP or Vista?
If Vista do you have Service Pack 1 installed?
Usually, the issue is that Msiexec.exe is already running. If you open task manager you can check this and if it is running just highlight it and click 'End Process'.
Please Post back and let us know if this resolved the issue. If not we may need to dig a little deeper.

Answer 2：Having same problem....how do I get to Task Master?
Answer 3：Use Ctrl+Alt+Del to bring up a screen that you can launch the Task Manager from - or you can right-click your Taskbar and launch it directly from there.
