Vista Bluescreen after update

Question:So i had to update during a routine shutdown of my compy (which btw was custom assembled by a friend and worked perfectly for a year). I hit the install updates and shutdown button then left for a couple of hours thinking it would update after a couple mins. I came back and it hadn't even determined a percentage of completion yet. SO i figured that it was frozen/not going to work    so i unplugged it (i know it says not to :P).   so now so now when i turn it on it goes to the bad shutdown screen and lets me pick if i want to start it in:
safe mode
safe mode w/ networking
safe mode w/ command prompt
last known good configuration
normally

i have tried all of these and they all take me to a blue screen that says:
STOP: c0000218 {registery file failure}
the registery cannot load the hive (file)
systemroot\system32\config\SOFTWARE
or its log or alternative
it is corrupt absent or not writable

collecting data for crash dump...
initializing disk for crash dump...
beginning dump for physical memory...
dumping physical memory to disk:

i dont have my windows instillation disk because i hear that it comes with a repair disk that should fix this.
i tried making the ones from the internet and i couldnt get them to work
i tried making one with the "recovery disk creator" on my sisters new laptop. it wouldnt let me continue the program even though it loaded because my computer wasnt a toshiba product

i totaly out of ideas on how to fix this.

Answer 1:Recovery disk/s from other computers will not work on yours.

Try using the Repair Disk below.

If that does not work, contact your Computer Mmanufacturer, and ask them to send you a set of Vista Recovery Disk/s, or ask for Help in using your Recovery Partition; and do a Vista reinstall.

As is the case with most computer/laptops these days, they do not come with the proper Vista Disk to do Repairs with; only Recovery Disks.

As yours falls into the above category, download the ISO file at the supplied link, and make a Bootable Repair Disk from it.

Go into your Bios/Setup, or Boot Menu, at startup, and change the Boot Order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the Boot Order, then reboot with the disk in the Drive.

At startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, to go into Bios/Setup, or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert that Bootable Disk you have made in the Drive, and reboot.

You can do a Startup Repair, System Restore, etc with it.

Read all info at the website about creating and using it.

It makes a very good Repair Vista disk.

You can do a Startup Repair, System Restore, etc from it.

It is not a reinstall disk.

And the 32bit is what comes normally on a computer, unless 64bits requested.

Cheers.
