Question:
I am overlapping narration and music on music maker. When I enter and listen to them individually they are fine. However, when both put on the audio/music timeline, the voice starts out very soft (I don't have fade in marked). It takes about 15 seconds before you can hear the narration above the music (which is set at low volume). Then the volume of the narration continues to swell. The middle of the 7 minute movie is balanced just right. Toward the last 30 seconds it fades to where you can no longer hear it - just like the beginning. Also the second music set fades in the same way - over a period of several seconds.
Lastly, it was very difficult to drag and postion two consecutive songs with narrative over the top.
I would be very greatful for ideas.
Thank you!
Answer 1:
Hi Debra,
Thank you for posting on the forums.
Quick question, how big is the movie that you're making? In what sequence are you adding your music and you're narration? Please take a look at this article on

You might want to try this on a sample file first, publish it locally and then play it back to check the results. Give it a try and please post back your results.

This could be a compatibility issue or your project may be
too complex...
Might be worth a try to import one audio file...adjust it the way
you like it and Publish the movie. Then re-import the saved
video file as a new project...drag it to the timeline and add
another audio file.

John Inzer's answer: "Might be worth a try to import one audio file...adjust it the way

To answer JohnD's enquiries: The file is 636 KB and the movie is 8 minutes and 10 seconds long. I had reviewed those instructions and had tried every sequence of adding music and narration. Nothing seemed to work.
For now I will use John Inzer's idea - it worked great and I am very grateful for the assistance. I was ready to give up after wrestling with the project for several hours. Now I have a lovely little tour movie with music and I'm looking forward to making more.
Thank you! Thank you!
