Question:Have a HP computer about 3 month old. Running Vista. Cannot get any sound to play through headphones.

I need additional information in order to assist you better.
1. Are you able to get the sound to play from the internal speaker?
2. Have you tried to replace the head phones and checked if you were able to get the sound?
3. Have you ensured that you are connecting the headphones into the correct port?
4. Were you able to hear sound from the headphones earlier?
You can try to update the audio drivers on the machine. You can follow the given steps:
1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click System.
2. Click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
NOTE: If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.
3. Click Sound and Game Controllers to expand.
4. Under Sound and Game Controllers, double-click the entry for your Sound and Game Controllers, and then click the Driver tab.
5. Click Update Driver Software.
6. Follow the Update Driver Software Wizard to update the Sound and Game Controllers driver.
7. Restart the machine and check if the issue is fixed.
You can also check if the headphones are set as the default audio output devices. Please follow the given steps:
1. Click on Start and the click on Control Panel,
2. Click on hardware and sound, and then click on sound.
You should see something called manage audio devices.
3. If the headphones show up in the list, set them as default output devices.
You may also want to replace the headphones and check if headphones are the culprit.

The driver is updated and said it is working. The headphone work on my radio so they are ok.
The default logo is a pair of headphone.
Still no sound on the computer.
Any other ideas?
