Question：
The following update to my windows Vista continually fails with the above error code
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update (KB951847) x86
How can I fix it?

Answer 1：Uninstall the original Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 and reinstall the same, then apply the updates.

The error code appears to refer to a corrupted file, a missing file, or a file mismatch. Most likely the original installation of 3.5 may have a problem therefore uninstalling reinstalling hopefully fixes the problem and you should be able to apply the updates.

Answer 2：I uninstalled the above as you suggested, then reinstalled it as well as the service pack, but nothing has changed.....the updates still fail
