Question:I need some help, about two months ago I had gotten a pretty bad virus on my Dell laptop. The virus whipped out my Pre-loaded XP OS and I had to upgrade to Vista Home Basic so I could use my computer. Now I had done the optition of keeping my old files but a few days after I installed Vista I pulled the most boneheaded move and accidently deleted the folder containing the XP files. Now I get a message that says my copy of Vista isn't genuine, which it should be I bought it from Walmart. Now here's were I need help I want to go back to XP (I still have the key) do I need to contact the manufator to get a disk since my computer didn't come with one?
Answer 1:http://support.dell.com/
Contact Dell > Get the XP CD > Install XP > upgrade to Vista
They normally do that for a small $ cost.
Cheers.
