Question:Lately I have not been able to burn CDs because when I do insert a blank CD and create a burn list it gives me the amount of minutes left on a CD, which seems to be about 3 minutes less than what the CD-R offers. And when I am suppose to click on START BURN, it is not active. Can anyone help me out with this issue???
Thanks
Answer 1:Hello LOLCHICK,
Have you tried to uninstall the dvd drive via the device manager then rebooting PC to see if Windows reinstalls it? Please do so. If the problem is still there, can give this a try? This is an easy quick fix from Microsoft, here is the Link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060. You will need to unistall any third party software (example: Roxio, Nero, or iTunes) from your computer before doing this fix. After you reboot, you can reinstall your software and try again to see if this fixes your issue. Otherwise it might be a bad drive optical drive. Hope this helps you. Let us know either way. Make it a great day!

Answer 2:Thank you so much for the reply. I ended up calling Costco Technical Support center, which is where we purchased our PC, who had me restart my computer to a setting it was at about a month ago, and after I did so, it actually worked and now I am able to burn CDs. If this problem occurs again, I'll be sure to try the steps you have provided me with. Again, thanks a lot.
