No picture previews

Question:Hi,

When I open he file where I keep my photos, I no longer see a preview of my photos, whether I set the pictures to "icon" or "detail" view. I now just get a generic picture of  water and sky. How can I correct this?

Thanks,
Eddy

Answer 1:

Hi Eddy820,

Let's delete the thumbnail cache and see if that brings the picture icons back.

  • Click on the Start orb.
  • Select All Programs.
  • Choose Accessories, then System Tools.
  • Click on Disk Cleanup.
  • If you are prompted, click on My files only.
  • In the Files to Delete list, choose Thumbnails.
  • Click OK.  Then click Delete Files.

Please let us know if that fixes the problem.

Answer 2:Thanks for the assist, but that didn't work.

Answer 3: Eddy, small icons and list do not show thumbnails by defalt, so make sure you are setting it to medium icon or larger.

Then check that you have the following option disabled, let me know your results after:
Click Start - in Start search type: Folder Options, press enter -> In the Folder Options settings window, click the View tab, then at the top of the list you will see an option with a box next to it, this option states "Always show icons, never thumbnails", uncheck this and then click ok, test your folder view again.
