Security update for .NET Framework code 66a Version 1.1 SP1

Question:I have tried several times to install the security update for Microsoft .NET Framework, Version 1.1 Service Pack 1.  The install fails with an error code of 66A.  I have searched and cannot find an explaination of this error code and cannot determine the problem why the update will not install.  Does anyone have any suggestions on this error code or what the install problem is.  I am running Vista Home Premium SP 1.

Answer 1: Please verify all current version of .NET Framework that are installed.

To do so go to Control Panel, Programs and Features and click View Installed Updates

Also please go to Control Panel, Windows Update, View Update History and double click the failed installations to acquire more extensive error info and provide that.

-Thanks

Answer 3:

I too am having the same issue  as described above regarding the downloading of this update. I reviewed  what updates I have and am unsure if I have the current version of .NET Framework. I did notice that all of my .NET updates are the 3.5 SP1 version, and this update is a 1.0. Could this be the issue? Below is what appeared after double clicking on the failed installantion.
