[Answer]Voices on DVD

Question:I cannot hear the voices on the DVD, but I can hear the music.  The voices are low and distorted.

Answer 1:

Hello SabreWatkins,

Welcome to Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

We would like to gather a little more information to help you focus in the right direction.

·         Is this happening with all the DVD's?

·         Are there any external speakers connected to the computer?

·         Are you using Windows Media Player or any other third party Music player to run the DVD?

If all the DVD's has the same issue then, you can try running a program from Microsoft that automatically diagnoses and repairs problems with sound and audio on your computer. To do so, click FIX IT Button on the link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948481  "How to troubleshoot sound problems that you may experience after you install a Windows Vista Service pack ".

Also make sure your speakers are correctly connected to your computer.

On your speakers, find the cable that plugs into your computer. Make sure that the speaker cable is plugged into the speakers and the correct jack on the computer. For example, if the cable is a 1/8 inch cable, there should be a round jack for it on the back of the computer. If it is a USB cable, it will plug into any USB port on your computer.

For more information check the link "Tips for fixing common sound problem": - http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/windows/en-US/Help/1e87a3e8-c0e8-49af-980f-9eb6686f42d21033.mspx#EKF

If these steps don't fix the problem, check the information that came with your computer and speakers or go to the manufacturer's website.

All the best!

Thanks and Regards:

Diana D D - Microsoft Support.
