Movie Maker 6 "Unspecified Error" message

Question:Why is Movie maker installed with Home Basic - when I can not use it? Is there a lot of stuff I can uninstall with Home Basic?
And why does Movie Maker 6 quit with the rather unpolite "Unspecified Error" message - when the truth is that I have not paid for it?

Gurglevatn,

There are features embedded with all Vista editions even if they are disabled depending on the license purchased, I would recommend leaving them on your system as to not cause any conflicts with your active features. You may of course research such options under your own responsibility.

As for Movie Maker crashing:

Make sure you have the latest drivers for your Display Device, If you require assistance with this you may supply us with the make and model.
Do you have Nero installed on your Vista Machine?

Try using Movie Maker 2.6, it is released for machines having problems running 6

Let us know your results. Thank you.

Answer 2:I have Windows Vista Home Premium.  I cannot locate Movie Maker in the programs.  Help! :)

FYI - When I searched for Movie Maker, a program titled Roxio which looks to do similair things shows up.

Answer 3: PS - I use it on my laptop, so I am familiar with it, but it is listed and easily found.
